About me!
Emma Hanks is a vibrant, dynamic, and passionate theatre artist based in Washington DC and New York City. A native Brooklynite, Emma was lucky enough to grow up surrounded by the arts, going to museums with her art-obsessed dad, attending outdoor concerts in Prospect Park, and demanding that her childhood best friend's father play her and her friend Linus and Lucy (then just "The Charlie Brown Song") on the piano, as often as possible.

Though Emma quickly found her passion and place in the big city through theater, her first love was history. Always her favorite subject in school, (even as a college senior - she currently is the TA for Catholic University's Musical Theatre History class!) Emma from a young age was inspired by all kinds of stories from the past, ones from her own family, New York City, and around the world. This first love infuses every aspect of her approach to theater today, and how she now walks through the world. In her career as a working actor, she aspires to find the intersection between our history and heritage, and our future, and how we can take stories and traditions from the past, and carry them with us into the modern age.
